When you live in the Sierra Nevada foothills surrounded by Ponderosa Pine, Insense Cedar, and California Black Oak, it is easy to be green. The enticing beauty of the foothills was the draw that brought many of us to Paradise, and the community is committed to preserving these environmental assets that add so much to an increasingly rare quality of life.
In keeping with our community commitment, the Town has redoubled it's efforts to run an environmentally friendly and sustainable organization. Town staff has assumed the role of sustainability coordinators for both the organization and developments that are constructed in the Town of Paradise. The "green team" has moved the town's purchasing practices toward environmentally friendly products and improved energy conservation and recycling practices. The team also reviews development proposals for opportunities to enhance the quality of the project through green technology and best practices from this evolving approach to construction and development.
