| 2010-2015 CDBG Consolidated Plan - Public Input Needed |
2010-2015 Consolidated Plan and 2010-2011 Annual Plan Update: DRAFT Consolidated Plan and Draft Annual Plan now available. The Town of Paradise receives a Community Development Block Grant under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Town’s Consolidated Plan must be revised every 5 years; the Annual Action Plan is changed each year to reflect new budget appropriations and project allocations. In accordance with the Housing and Community Development Act (HCDA) of 1987, as amended, the primary objective of the Town of Paradise CDBG Program is the development of a viable urban community, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and the expansion of economic opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income. To accomplish this objective, activities which 1) benefit low/moderate income persons, 2) aid in the elimination/prevention of slums or blight, 3) meet other urgent community development needs having particular urgency for which no other funds are available, will be given priority. Public participation is requested. Please attend one of the public hearings or submit written comments to Lauren Gill, Business & Housing Services, 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA 95969 or email: lgill@townofparadise.com.

When you live in the Sierra Nevada foothills surrounded by Ponderosa Pine, Insense Cedar, and California Black Oak, it is easy to be green. The enticing beauty of the foothills was the draw that brought many of us to Paradise, and the community is committed to preserving these environmental assets that add so much to an increasingly rare quality of life. In keeping with our community commitment, the Town has redoubled it's efforts to run an environmentally friendly and sustainable organization. Town staff has assumed the role of sustainability coordinators for both the organization and developments that are constructed in the Town of Paradise. The "green team" has moved the town's purchasing practices toward environmentally friendly products and improved energy conservation and recycling practices. The team also reviews development proposals for opportunities to enhance the quality of the project through green technology and best practices from this evolving approach to construction and development. |
