| 2010-2015 CDBG Consolidated Plan - Public Input Needed |
2010-2015 Consolidated Plan and 2010-2011 Annual Plan Update: DRAFT Consolidated Plan and Draft Annual Plan now available. The Town of Paradise receives a Community Development Block Grant under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Town’s Consolidated Plan must be revised every 5 years; the Annual Action Plan is changed each year to reflect new budget appropriations and project allocations. In accordance with the Housing and Community Development Act (HCDA) of 1987, as amended, the primary objective of the Town of Paradise CDBG Program is the development of a viable urban community, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and the expansion of economic opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income. To accomplish this objective, activities which 1) benefit low/moderate income persons, 2) aid in the elimination/prevention of slums or blight, 3) meet other urgent community development needs having particular urgency for which no other funds are available, will be given priority. Public participation is requested. Please attend one of the public hearings or submit written comments to Lauren Gill, Business & Housing Services, 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA 95969 or email: lgill@townofparadise.com.

The Paradise Town Council is comprised of five members elected by the community at-large to four year staggered terms of office. Council elections occur in even numbered years, and depending on the year submit three or four seats to the voters. Each December, the Town Council selects one of its members to serve one-year terms as Mayor and Vice Mayor. The Mayor presides over the Council meetings, as well as serving as the Council's ambassador during their year at the hlem. The Council meets in session on the second Tuesday of the month. Sessions generally begin at 6:00 p.m., and they are held in the Council Chambers at 5555 Skyway, Paradise, California. The Town Council is the chief policy making body for the Town of Paradise. In that role, they establish priorities, set policy, and adopt programs. Approving the annual Town budget is one of the Council's most crucial and sweeping responsibilities.
