Benefits - General Unit

Benefits provided by the Town of Paradise will be pursuant to the General Unit MOU for this position. Outlined below is a summary as at the time of recruitment. 

• PERS retirement plan (2% @ 60 for classic members, 2% @ 62 for new members). 
• Retiree Medical - Equal to active EE contribution 
• Longevity - 5% @ 10 years, 7.5% @ 15 years, maximum of a total 10% @ 20 years
• Sick leave - 96 hours/year
• Vacation leave - 0-4 years = 80 hours/year, 5-9 years = 120 hours/year, 10 years + = 200 hours/year
• Bereavement leave - Up to 3 day each leave
• Holidays - 12 days/year and 28 hours/year of floating
• Medical Plans* - PERS Medical Plan**, MetLife Dental, Superior Vision
  • *Employees pay a portion of premium for coverage. 
  • **Deferred compensation in lieu of medical is an option if employee maintains medical insurance through another option. 
• Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Plan
• Life Insurance - $100,000 at no cost to the employee
• Deferred Comp (457) - Available for EE contribution (Voya and Mission Square)
• Gym Reimbursement - $120/quarter
• No Social Security Participation
