Operating and Capital Budgets
When the most destructive wildfire in California State history swept through the Town of Paradise on November 8, 2018, it took precious lives, and most homes and businesses. It also damaged the financial stability necessary to sustain local government services that the Community and its leaders had worked so hard to restore.
Since the fire, the Town has made tremendous progress with insurance, FEMA and State public assistance, and learning about other funding sources. It knows much more about its finances than it did just six months ago, but there is still a lot to learn and plan
The 2023/2024 Operating and Capital Budgets approved July 12, 2023, includes the projects and funding that was most known at the time. Many more projects, contracts and grants will come forward to Town Council for consideration over the course of the budget year which will require budget adjustments.
Every goal and task in this budget has a process. It will take persistence from staff and patience from Town Council and the community to achieve them all.
The Town's dedicated and professional staff will maintain a full array of community services including police protection, fire prevention and suppression, medical aid, community development and street maintenance.
