Vegetation Management Map

Is your lot compliant? Fire hazard inspection status can now be viewed on our interactive map. See legend below:
BLUE – Property is currently being cited.
RED – Property is non-compliant and work is needed to bring it into compliance.
GREEN – Property is compliant at last time of inspection.
Property owners are responsible for maintaining fire-safe conditions on their lots year-round, regardless of whether the property is occupied. If assistance is needed, local contractors are available to perform vegetation management services. Please refer to the Town of Paradise Business License Dashboard and select the “Weed Abatement” tab for a list of licensed providers. The Town does not endorse or recommend specific contractors.
Did you receive a letter from the Fire Prevention Division? The letter describes what needs to be done on your property to make it fire-safe and bring it into compliance with the town's municipal code.
You can read the Town's ordinance regarding defensible space and vegetation management here.
Most notices require the grasses/brush/weeds to be removed or cut down to a maximum of (4) inches, and limb tree canopies up, (1/3 of the way or 6ft, depending on the height of the tree). 30 days after the initial notification, a prevention inspector will inspect to ensure the parcel is compliant.
There are no penalties if you complete the required clearance within the date noted on the letter. Failure to meet fire hazard requirements outlined in the notice of violation letter may be subject to administrative citations and fines, forced abatement, or other remedies according to the Paradise Municipal Code.
