For Immediate Release: PPD Case 24-1081, DUI Traffic Collision

A two-vehicle collision occurred on the Skyway near Adventist Health, at approximately 3:50 PM on December 18, 2024. The incident involved a Toyota truck traveling southbound and a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Darian Ocampo, a Magalia resident, who was suspected of driving under the influence.

According to authorities, Ocampo’s vehicle pulled out of the medical center's exit directly into the path of the oncoming Toyota truck, resulting in a collision. Both vehicles left the roadway, and Ocampo's vehicle rolled over.

Ocampo was extricated from the overturned vehicle. Ocampo was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Additionally, two of the four occupants in the Toyota truck were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Ocampo was released to a local hospital for medical treatment, the investigation will be forwarded to the Butte County District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
