PRESS RELEASE
On 02/16/2024 at about 1100 hrs, Officers with the Paradise Police Department, Paradise Animal Control, the Northwest SPCA and Paradise Animal Shelter Helpers responded to the area near Clark Road and Skyway on a report of a loose wolf hybrid canine.
The canine has been reported to be loose for approximately the last three years and despite prior attempts to trap and capture the dog, officers were unsuccessful. During this time, the dog unfortunately killed livestock for food.
Utilizing personnel and on scene veterinary doctors, the animal was tranquilized for the safety of the animal and those on scene. Utilizing the new Paradise Police Department Drone, the animal was tracked through multiple empty lots and residential yards where the medications took effect, roughly 1 km away.
Officers were able to secure the animal without any injuries to the animal or personnel. The canine will be transferred to a specialty hybrid rescue to live out her years in a healthy environment.
The Paradise Police Department would like to thank the Northwest SPCA and PASH for their assistance in the matter.
