Building/Fire Code Board of Appeals

The Building/Fire Code Board of Appeals was first established by town council by minute order on March 2, 1999. The purpose of committee is to resolve questions about building official decisions regarding application & interpretation of technical code. Meetings are held on an “as needed” basis whenever there is an appeal of a decision of a building official.

The committee consists of a seven-member board: licensed architect, licensed civil engineer, licensed electrician, licensed general contractor, licensed mechanical contractor, licensed public, licensed real estate agent. The Building Official is an ex-officio, non-voting member who serves as secretary to the board.
