Planning Commission
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Paradise Town Council of two open seats on the Paradise Planning Commission. Town Council will appoint an applicant to the first seat for a full four-year term. The second seat is a result of an unscheduled vacancy and an applicant will be appointed to fulfill the unfinished two year term. Any registered voter of the Town of Paradise is eligible to apply and may obtain an application at the Town Hall located at 5555 Skyway, Paradise, California, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or from the Town’s internet website at www.townofparadise.com. The Town Clerk must receive the application by 5 pm on April 7, 2025. Interviews will be on April 23, 2025 with appointment to the Commission scheduled for the May 13, 2025 Regular Town Council Meeting. Successful applicants will be required to disclose certain financial interests within the Fair Political Practices Commission and file a California Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest.
The Planning Commission is established by ordinance to serve as an advisory board to the Paradise Town Council and holds one regular meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall located at 5555 Skyway. The functions of the planning commission include:
A. To prepare and recommend for adoption by the town council a comprehensive long-term general plan for the physical development of the town and of any land outside its boundaries which in the planning commission's judgment bears relation to its planning;
B. To prepare specific plans based on the general plan and drafts of such regulations, programs and legislation as may in its judgment be required for the systematic implementation of the general plan, and to recommend such plans and measures to the council for adoption;
C. To act as the advisory agency for the town in connection with the administration of the State Subdivision Map Act and the town's Subdivision Ordinance regulations;
D. To perform the duties of a planning commission as prescribed by law, including those duties prescribed by Articles 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Chapter 3, Title 7 and Article 3, Chapter 4, Title 7 of the California Government Code existing as of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter or thereafter amended;
E. To prepare and recommend for adoption by the town council a Zoning Ordinance and to perform such other duties in reference to planning and zoning and land use matters as may be required by the Town Council.
Commission Members serve a 4 year term.
