Secondary Dwellings
As small houses that exist on the same lot as a primary residence, Secondary dwellings (ADU) are a family friendly, community-creating type of housing.
What is an ADU?
An ADU is a small residence or self contained living space, with its own kitchen, bathroom and sleeping area. It shares a single family or residential lot with a larger primary residence.
An ADU can be located within, attached to, or detached from the primary residence.
An ADU can provide rental income to homeowners
ADUs are compact but not teeny. This makes them an ideal option for renters, caregivers, or older residents who want their own space.
